Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year
Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to 2nd grade we excited
about the opportunity to get to know you, and we are looking forward to a happy
and productive school year.
Curriculum areas we will focus on this year
include math, writing, reading, science, and many opportunities to build a
strong community within our classrooms.
Our homework policies will focus around
responsibility. Homework will be given out on Monday and needs to be returned
by Friday. It will be your child’s responsibility to complete and turn it in on
time. Homework will never be a surprise to your child. All homework given will
be a review of what we have already studied.
This year 2nd grade will have the
opportunity to utilize our Earl Boyles Portaportal to access various websites
for your child’s growth.
Studies show that parental involvement in a
child’s education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement. We
hope you will make it a priority this year to attend as many school-sponsored
events as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns or if
you would like to visit our classrooms, schedule a conference, or volunteer to
help out, you can contact us before 8:00 or after 3:15. The best times to reach us is before school or immediately after school. We are happy to meet with you
and discuss your child’s progress.
